Guide
What affects the price of a CNC machining center
There is no single price for a CNC machining center. The price follows from the size, the specification and what is included in the offer. This guide explains the main factors so that you can compare offers fairly.
Size and construction
Larger travels, a larger table and a higher table load need more cast iron, larger guideways and a larger drive system. A gantry machine for heavy parts costs more than a compact vertical machine for small parts.
Spindle
Spindle taper, speed range, power and torque change the price. A BT50 spindle for heavy cutting and a high-speed spindle for finishing are built differently and cost differently.
Controller and software
The controller brand and the options for programming, probing and communication affect the price, and so does the availability of support and training in your region.
Tool magazine and automation
A larger tool magazine, pallet changers, probing systems, chip conveyors and preparation for a robot add to the price. Decide what you need now and what you may add later.
Delivery, installation and service
Compare what each offer includes: transport, unloading, positioning, installation, training, warranty and spare parts. A lower machine price can be cancelled out by costs outside the offer.
How to get a useful offer
Tell the supplier the largest part, its weight, the material, the batch size and the accuracy you need. With this information the supplier can suggest a model and give a price that fits your work.
